The Hobonichi Techo is a Japanese daily planner. This is a working copy of one at about a tenth the size, on a chain, small enough to sit in your palm.

Why people love it

• The notebook inside is real: 40 pages ruled with the same grid as the full size Techo, and you can write on them

• Every detail is copied down, from the butterfly stopper pen holders to the pocket on the back

• A little wooden pencil slides through the holders and keeps the cover shut

• The ball chain comes off, so it can hang from a bag, a set of keys, or the planner it is a copy of

• 53 x 48 x 9 mm and about 12 g, so it never drags on a zip

Each one has its own cover fabric.
