Key Features

• The Smiling Nib: The Kakuno’s signature feature is a subtle smiley face engraved right on the stainless steel nib. It isn't just for looks—when the smiley face is looking up at you, you know the pen is held at the perfect angle for smooth ink flow.

• Ergonomic Triangular Grip: The smartly designed grip section naturally guides your thumb, index, and middle fingers into the correct writing position, reducing hand fatigue during long journaling or note-taking sessions.

• Roll-Free Hexagonal Barrel: Modeled after a classic wooden pencil, the hexagonal shape ensures your pen stays exactly where you put it, preventing frustrating rolls off the edge of your desk.

• Child-Safe Cap: The snap-cap features a small indentation for easy one-handed opening and is designed with safety breathing holes.

• Premium Japanese Engineering: Despite its playful exterior, the Kakuno features the same high-quality stainless steel nib found on Pilot's more expensive models (like the Metropolitan), delivering a consistently smooth and skip-free line.
